Blade replacement, friction and daily equipment maintenance of drum wood chipper
Blade replacement
(1) Cut off the power, open the cover, and fix the knife roller.
(2) Loosen the fastening bolt of the flying knife, take off the pressure plate, and take out the flying knife.
(3) After cleaning the combination of the knife roller and the flying knife, adjust the flying knife (the distance from the flying knife blade to the adjusting bolt head of HL216 is 203±0.2 mm)
(4) Place the flying knife, press the knife plate, and tighten the fastening bolt (preferably a special wrench).
(5) Close the cover, release the knife roller, and manually turn the knife roller to check whether the gap between the knife roller and the bed knife is appropriate (0.5-1 mm)
2. Replacement of bed knife
(1) Loosen and remove the two clamp keys on the machine base.
(2) Pull out the bedknife holder, loosen the fastening bolts, and take out the bedknife.
(3) The bottom knife has 4 cutting knives. If there are still available blades, the bottom knife can be turned over for use.
(4) Clean the joint surface of the bed knife holder, place the bed knife, press the blade plate to adjust the size, and tighten the bolts (preferably a special wrench)
(5) The adjustment size of the bed knife is determined according to the gap (0.5-1 mm) between the bed knife and the flying knife on the knife roller.
(6) Place the bottom knife holder smoothly into the machine base, secure the clamping key, and tighten the bolts.
(7) The replacement and adjustment of the flying knife and bed knife cannot be completed smoothly at one time. It requires the cooperation of multiple people. Please pay attention to safe operation.
3. Blade grinding and repair
(1) Use professional equipment for grinding to ensure the angle of the flying knife and the bottom knife.
(2) Water must be added for cooling during the grinding process to prevent burns and reduction in hardness.
(3) The total amount of flying knife grinding shall not exceed 40 mm of the new knife width (standard blade)
(4) The flying knife and the bottom knife are replaced at the same time.
(5) The two flying knives on the flying knife roller must be ground and replaced at the same time to prevent the main machine from vibrating due to excessive weight.
4. Swing adjustment of the upper feeding roller
(1) Start the oil pump motor and push the handle forward to raise the plunger rod of the oil cylinder and the upper feeding roller to rise about 10-15 mm.
(2) Loosen the handle and keep it in the 10-15 mm position.
(3) If you encounter large-diameter or irregular materials during work, you can push the handle forward to raise the feeding roller and press the wood. After cutting, pull the handle back to restore it to its original position.
(4) If you do not operate it carefully, the oil cylinder, oil pump, etc. will be damaged in advance.
(5) During work, always check the motor, reduction box and bearing parts to see if there is overheating (generally not exceeding 40°C). If found, perform maintenance.
(6) Check the tightness of the triangle belt frequently. Check the tightness of the flat belt to see if it deviates. See Perform maintenance.
(7) Whether the connections of each equipment are strong and reliable, whether the brackets are stable, and whether the distribution box is clean and safe.
